Krakow
 
Krakow is the pearl among Polish cities. It is situated in the south of Poland (Lesser Poland – Malopolska), on both sides of the Vistula River. It was the capital of Poland from the 9th to 17th century. Countless museums, theatres and charming cafes make Krakow a magical place. History intertwines with modernity but practically every piece of stone in the Old Town has its own history. Thanks to these unique pieces of cultural heritage, Krakow was entered as one of the sites on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. It also a city full of greenery (with Planty – a unique green belt which surrounds the Old Town)
Must-see places in Krakow:
  • The Wawel Hill (including the Cathedral, the Royal Castle, the Royal Chambers, Crown Treasury and Armory)
  • The Dragon’s Cave (at the foot of the Wawel Hill)
  • The Barbacan (the medieval fortification) and The Florian Gate
  • Main Market Square – the heart of the city with countless cafes and pubs
  • Cloth Hall in the centre of the Market Square
  • St Adalbert’s Church (the oldest one in the city) and St Mary’s Church
  • Kazimierz (the Jewish part of the city with the Old Synagogue and the Museum of History and Culture of Krakow Jewry)
  • Kanoniczna Street – the most beautiful street in Krakow.
